Can I just say how freaking tired I am of concern trolls using “health” to justify their body shaming?

YOU CAN BE FAT AND HEALTHY AND SKINNY AND UNHEALTHY AND EVERYTHING INBETWEEN

AND IT IS NOT YOUR BUSINESS WHETHER OR NOT SOMEONE CONFORMS TO ARBITRARY STANDARDS OF HEALTH

Have you ever noticed no one ever ever jumps on people with more “normal” body types for being unhealthy? “Skinny” people can be pigs and horribly lazy and do nothing but eat and browse tumblr all day and be all “lol i’m such a fatass XD” and no one even cares.

It’s like fat people have to “earn” respect and basic human fucking decency by doing whatever they can to become thin.

“Well, ok, you can be fat if you’re actively starving yourself/trying to lose weight/obsessed over weight loss to the point where it resembles an eating disorder/exercising every minute of every day even if it causes you physical pain.”

That is so far off the mark from actual health it’s not even funny. So no, I don’t give a shit if you’re “concerned” for my health. You can fuck right off with your faux-concern body policing. You can’t tell the state of someone’s health by looking at them, and even if you could, someone’s personal choices are not your concern. What I chose to do with my body is my fucking business and you can just shut up and move on with your life.

I don’t know if this is because of my post but if it is then HERE is my intended message:

IF YOU’RE ACTUALLY UNHEALTHY DUE TO YOUR WEIGHT, YOU SHOULD DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT

that is not assuming that all overweight people are unhealthy because that’s fucking stupid

it’s saying that if your health is being actively threatened by your weight, then you should probably do something to change that

loving yourself is very important

very, very important

but loving yourself includes taking care of yourself and too many people take that to mean that you’re absolutely perfect the way you are, always

which isn’t inherently true

being skinny can be unhealthy too

it’s not a matter of skinny vs. overweight, it’s a matter of YOU BEING HEALTHY

(the “you” there being the universal you, not you personally)
